Objectives of project

Multipliers of ICL&ICD

Objectives of project

Here are some objectives of this project. By the world "objectives" we mean some reasons for preparing this project and what do we want to achieve.
  • Sharing realities in different European countries when it comes to challenges related to dealing with cultural diversity – the focus on how it affects young people and their needs Exploring main theories and concepts related to inter-cultural learning and dialogue competence –culture, identity, dialogue, diversity, inclusion-exclusion, mechanisms of stereotyping, prejudices and discrimination, etc.
  • Becoming more aware about their own identity, culture, stereotypes and prejudiced behaviour patterns and realize that intercultural learning and dialogue is a life-long learning process
  • Discovering components of intercultural learning and intercultural dialogue competence
  • Develop skills of youth workers to design and facilitate concrete non-formal learning activities for young people that develop their intercultural understanding, solidarity and inclusion
  • Empowering youth workers to improve the quality of their youth work by becoming active promoters of intercultural learning and multipliers of intercultural dialogue with their young people – by transversally including ICL&ICD in their daily youth work or through specially design NFL activities

Who leads our team?

Multipliers of ICL&ICD

Our team

The most important person from our support team is Lukáš. He is founder and leader of organization TOM Dumánci which is preparing this course. He has long-standing experiences on field of working with youth and he has participated on many Erasmus+ courses. He is also mentor and great example for his summercamp leaders.

About participants

This training course will bring together 24 motivated youth workers, youth leaders, peer-to-peer educators and active members of youth organizations from different European countries in order to develop their intercultural learning and dialogue competences (knowledge, skills, attitudes) that would enable them to become effective multipliers of intercultural dialogue at their communities with young people.

About idea

Multipliers of ICL&ICD

About general idea

No secret that due to increased migration flow during the last 1-2 years Europe is undergoing big changes. There are growing tensions, intolerance and even acts of violence in societies in different European countries. They are often based on the fear of meeting and living together with people from other backgrounds. The majority of people, among them also a lot of young people, are confused and don’t know how to perceive and deal with these changes and ambiguity.

Youth workers CAN and SHOULD play an increased role in helping the young people not only to understand the changes and current reality, but also to shape their attitudes of being open for dialogue, curious, respectful, empathetic and inclusive with people from (culturally) different backgrounds.

Our team

Our training course also needs somebody, who can manage literally everything. Exactly for these reasons, we have Mája. And, as most of you already suspect, this is the person you can know from all emails you´ve received from us.

"My approach to being a professional in the field is that only practice makes the master! So, it is highly important for a trainer to be willing to take new challenges, to be able to learn and unlearn from experience and later to know how to share it with others."

Vitalie Cîrhană

"I beleive that Learning starts outside of comfort zone, this why i love to challenge myself and other. So, if you want to taste challenge then we can work together!"

Something from last year

Multipliers of ICL&ICD

Our last project

We have already organized a training course similar to this one. It was called "Magic of Non-Formal Learning" and it took place in October 2015 in Tábor. The participants were people, who actively work with youth from the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Spain, Latvia, Romania, Sweden, Turkey and Italy.
The course was 8 days long and during that time they had the opportunity to learn about the meaning of learning and education, group dynamics, different learning styles and improve their competences to design non-formal educational activities for young people. We had a lot of fun playing the games we prepared, getting to know each other and our cultures.
We took some time to explore Tábor and Prague, too. This great experience inspired us to create a new project this year and motivated us to make it even better.

Our Experiences

Multipliers of ICL&ICD

Our experiences

  • This training course is not our first. All members of support team were already on Erasmus+ project.

  • Last year, we also held one training course for youth workers in the Czech Republic. It was prepared by experienced trainers from Latvia and Romania and 26 youth workers from 10 European countries took part in it.Project was called "Magic of NFL" - we learned a lot about non-formal education and prepared some educational activities for other participants.

  • And what about trainers? For this project, we invited two very experienced facilitators: Vitalie Cîrhană and Ieva Grundsteine.
